Brush thoroughly three times a day

To maintain excellent oral hygiene, it’s recommended to brush your teeth at least three times a day, ideally after each meal. Use a fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristle toothbrush. Brush for a minimum of two minutes each time, making sure to reach all tooth surfaces, including the fronts, backs, and chewing surfaces. Additionally, gently brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath.

Floss daily

Flossing daily is essential to remove food particles and plaque from between your teeth and below the gumline. Use dental floss or interdental brushes to clean these areas thoroughly. Proper flossing helps prevent gum disease and cavities in hard-to-reach spots.

Balanced diet

Your diet plays a significant role in your dental health. Consume a well-balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy products. These foods provide essential nutrients like calcium, vitamin D, and antioxidants that promote strong teeth and gums. Limit your intake of sugary snacks and beverages, as they can lead to tooth decay.

Regular dental checkups

Schedule regular dental checkups with your dentist at least twice a year. These visits allow your dentist to detect and address dental issues early, before they become more serious problems. During your checkups, you’ll also receive professional cleanings to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

Protect your teeth

If you participate in contact sports or grind your teeth at night, consider wearing a custom-made mouthguard. This protective gear can help prevent dental injuries and minimize the effects of teeth grinding. Additionally, avoid using your teeth as tools to open bottles or packages, as this can lead to chipped or cracked teeth.
